How to get involved
Involving local people in local decisions is the cornerstone of democracy. There are many ways you can contribute and get your voice heard at public meetings.
Members of the public can present a petition or make a statement and speak at the public committee meeting for up to 3 minutes each. The total time for this session is 30 minutes so speaking time will be reduced if more than 10 people wish to speak.
If you wish to present a petition or make a statement and speak at the meeting, you are required to give notice of your intention by noon on the working day before the meeting by e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you wish to ask a question at the meeting, you are required to submit the question in writing to email@example.com no later than 3 working days before the meeting. Supplementary questions are not allowed. Written replies will be provided at the meeting and sent electronically.
For those unable to attend the public meeting, some of our meetings are webcasted live and the recordings are made available after the meeting.
