Purpose:

The Department for Transport awarded £540m CRSTS to the West of England. The programme was approved at October 2023 Committee and included in its scope £1.44m for delivery of this scheme. To support timely decision making and delivery, Business Case approvals for projects of a value below £6m in this programme were delegated by the Combined Authority Committee to the Combined Authority Director of Infrastructure in consultation with the Directors of Infrastructure of the constituent Councils in July 2022.

 

A Feasibility and Development Funding Application has been produced by Bath and North East Somerset Council to draw down development funding for a Full Business Case. It sought delegated approval for the award of £144,000 capital funding from CRSTS.

 

Decision:

To approve Feasibility and Development Funding Application and the award of £144,000 from CRSTS capital to Bath and North East Somerset Council for the Midsomer Norton & Westfield Walking, Wheeling and Cycling Links project to complete a Full Business Cases by July 2024.

Alternative options considered:

Option 1 – To award funding as recommended.
