Purpose:
As per delegation to the Infrastructure Directors from the Combined Authority Committee in July 2022, a Funding Application Form for the Bath & North East Somerset Liveable Neighbourhood Programme has been produced to provide the project with the necessary funding to progress.
Decision:
Approval of the funding application for the B&NES Liveable Neighbourhoods Programme and the award of £440k of City Regions Sustainable Transport Settlement (CRSTS) funding to Bath & North East Somerset Council. This is drawing down from the Programme’s allocated CRSTS funding of £6m.
Reasons for the decision:
As per delegation to the Infrastructure Directors from the Combined Authority Committee in July 2022, a Funding Application Form for the Bath & North East Somerset Liveable Neighbourhood Programme has been produced to provide the project with the necessary funding to progress.
Alternative options considered:
Option 1- Chosen Option as discussed to award funding for the development of a Full Business Case
Option 2- To award funding to develop an Outline Business Case. This was not taken forward due to the developed nature of the scheme and lower engineering risk not requiring this.
Option 3- To deliver the business case as part of other existing transport schemes. Not taken forward due to lack of shared strategic context and delivery timescales.
