Purpose:

At the meeting in July 2022, the Combined Authority Committee agreed to the allocation of £0.3m for the Bath Sustainable Walking & Cycling Links project, and to delegate the approval of the FDAF to the Director of Infrastructure of the Combined Authority in consultation with the UAs Directors of Infrastructure Combined Authority. 

 

Additionally, at the meeting in September 2022, the Combined Authority Committee agreed to reallocate the award of Transforming Cities Funding of £0.062m from Weston to City Centre cycle route to Bath Sustainable Walking & Cycling Links.

Decision:

To approve the FDAF for the Bath Sustainable Walking & Cycling Links project and the award of £0.3m from CRSTS and £0.062m from TCF to develop the Preferred Option Report. 

Reasons for the decision:

At the meeting in July 2022, the Combined Authority Committee agreed to the allocation of £0.3m for the Bath Sustainable Walking & Cycling Links project, and to delegate the approval of the FDAF to the Director of Infrastructure of the Combined Authority in consultation with the UAs Directors of Infrastructure Combined Authority.

Alternative options considered:

Option 1 – As above, the chosen option to award development funding to progress the business case for this project towards Full Business Case

 

Option 2 – To progress the schemes within this project as parts of wider CRSTS strategic corridor projects. This was discarded due to the lack of shared geographic and strategic context.
