Purpose:

At the Combined Authority Committee in September 2022 the approval for the Full Business Case and the award of up to £5m was delegated to the Director of Infrastructure of the Combined Authority in consultation with the other Directors of Infrastructure within the constituent Councils. At the West of England Directors Meeting in October 2022 the Full Business Case for the Advanced Bus Stops Programme was approved. This project will provide 10 new bus shelters and real-time passenger information units to provide an improved customer experience, aiming to align with the Combined Authority’s transport strategy and encourage bus travel.

 

South Gloucestershire Council (SGC) have identified an additional set of bus shelter refurbishments to provide new hardstanding and perspex panel replacement at 37 stops, the replacement of 10 real-time information units and replacement of existing timetable cases at 137 stops along Yate & Thornbury to improve customer experience. The cost of these additional elements is £480,000.
