Purpose:

The Outline Business Case for the A432 Multi Modal Corridor project was considered by the Combined Authority Committee in July 2022. The Outline Business Case was published as part of the Committee papers.

 

This scheme proposes to improve public transport and active mode infrastructure to develop an A432 multi-modal corridor between Yate/Chipping Sodbury and Bristol, via the A4174. Planned measures include the provision of bus priority measures to maximise journey time reliability and speed, a series of walking and cycling facilities both on the corridor and connecting communities to it.

 

On the basis of urgency, the approval of the Outline Business Case was delegated to the Combined Authority Chief Executive in consultation with the Chief Executives of the constituent Councils.

Decision:

Approval of the Outline Business Case for the A432 Multi-Modal Corridor and the award of £1.887m from the City Region Sustainable Transport Settlement (CRSTS) to develop the Full Business Case, with the allocation of £19.807m from CRSTS for the delivery of the scheme.
