Purpose:
To approve a new Climate and Ecological Emergency Strategy and Action Plan.
Decision:
The Combined Authority Committee RESOLVED to approve a new Climate and Ecological Emergency Strategy and Action Plan.
Reasons for the decision:
The Strategy and Action Plan sets out the scale of the challenge that we face and the actions we will take in response. In order to meet our 2030 ambitions, we know that we will need to go further, faster to tackle the climate and ecological emergencies.
Alternative options considered:
Not developing a revised Climate and Ecological Emergency Strategy and Action Plan has been considered. This has been discounted on the basis that a plan will enable action to be prioritised and ensure we are focused on the actions that will have most impact.
